If we were to all be selected as Earth’s champions, the
first order of business would be to make a name for ourselves as a team. To that end I found it fitting that we call
ourselves the “Kings of Fighting” to mirror my aims to becoming the future king
of jumpers.
I still find the name
stupid. Half of us aren’t even men.
I think a better name could have
been chosen as well.
Much to my chagrin, the only other humans on the team were
less than enthusiastic about my naming aesthetic. Eventually I managed to make the name stick
and that’s what we went by. As we were
all now “kings” I had to assign everyone a domain to rule over. They are as
follows:
Alice – “King” of Magic
Karen – “King” of Strength
Lizardon – King of Fire
Flyer – “King” of the Sky
Sgt. Shock – King of Lightning
Bruce – King of Skill
Psychic – King of the Mind
I believe I chose something fitting for everyone. For myself, as the leader, it was only
natural to call myself the “Supreme King” as I have jurisdiction over all other
kings.
Someone’s gotten full of
himself.
Was there really nothing else
you could have called yourself?
Getting back on topic, the first five years were filled with
us traveling the world and dominating local and international fighting
tournaments. We were never without
enough funds to live very comfortably.
It got to the point that if even one of us entered a tournament the
lesser combatants would quit out of fear.
Gave the rest of us free entrance to fill the holes in the rosters and
even more recognition.
Aren’t you forgetting something?
No…
No, you definitely are.
But-
You can’t forget about how we
fought against each other when we first arrived to test out our strength.
Without the use of most of our
powers too. How was that supposed to be
accurate if we couldn’t go all out like we would against the competition?
Right, that did happen, didn’t it. The matches went something like this:
Bruce vs. Alice – Winner: Alice
Karen vs. Psychic – Winner: Karen
Me vs. Lizardon – Winner: Me
Sgt. Shock vs. Flyer – Winner: Flyer
Lizardon vs. Sgt. Shock – Winner: Lizardon
Bruce vs. Psychic – Winner: Psychic
Flyer vs. Karen – Winner: Karen
Me vs. Alice – Winner: Me
Thanks to Alice’s artefact we didn’t have to worry about
sustaining any injuries.
I still had to expend magical
energy to use it!
You draw from my power to even summon it in the first place.
I, well, that is to say-
Moving on, through some miracle getting the Pokémon on
airplanes wasn’t a hassle. There were
even creatures from bears to sentient training dummies taking up space on
flights. How they became competitors was
beyond my understanding. We showed what
we were made of, and had fans the world over.
Then we were approached by a man
calling himself the guardian god of this realm.
His name was Raijin, and while most would have been more
skeptical about it I asked for a simple show of godly power to get us to take him
seriously. He snapped his fingers and
the weather went from nice and sunny, to dark and cloudy with lightning
striking. A storm was coming, but he
snapped his fingers again and the weather turned back to normal. I was convinced, and everyone else was
too. He explained to us through words
and visions that a tournament between worlds was about to take place. Champions from each world would be chosen and
they would have to fight. The champion’s
world gets to invade the other after ten consecutive wins and our world was on
a loss streak of nine. If we couldn’t do
what other’s failed to in the past nine tournament it would be game over. Having already established a dominating presence
all over the world we were the best bet for a single combat tournament like
this. We gathered a couple things we’d
need for the duration of the event and were warped to where the tournament
would be held.
The competition would have been fierce had we only been
able to use what we gained in this world, but Karen by herself was honestly
enough to take them all on. Since we were
permitted to use what abilities we had there really wasn’t anything to worry
about.
We even surprised Raijin with what we could do. He even wondered if he could beat us while
using his full power as a god. The
initial matches were no problem, but what we hadn’t counted on was the bracket
being set up so that their strongest fighter would never fight one of us until
the finals. So in the end we all had to
face each other along with their other contestants. Alice and I had to fight in the quarter-finals
to decide who would face the “Supreme
King” in the semi-finals to decide who would represent our side.
Alice
and Karen bought fought hard, and it seemed like it could go either way up
until the end. In a turn of events that
surprised me, Karen managed to beat Alice and move on to face me in the
semi-finals. Even with the fate of the
world at stake, I couldn’t help but find a certain thrill in getting to fight
with Karen. She currently outclasses me
in strength and since she developed her combat skills in the world of Negima! and
became a ninja here I had cause to be concerned.
I was scared out of my mind with the thought of having to
face him, but knew that I couldn’t afford to hold back. Calming my nerves, I faced the battle with a
calm mind, and serene heart. He
certainly pulled no punches and used everything at his disposal to beat
me. I had to deal with lightning
strikes, silently casted magic and more, but I somehow was able to keep up and
held my ground for a lot longer than anyone expected.
Karen
really had grown much stronger than when we had last seriously fought all
out. If I had underestimated her it
would have cost me the match. I was
victorious in the end and went on to fight the current champion, Joro. He had four arms, great strength and nothing
really supernatural to work with. My
fight with Karen was much more challenging.
Chao Cahn, the leader of the other world’s forces was not amused, but
the rules of the Transient Fighting tournament prevented him from acting in his
rage.
How come you always are the one saving the day in the
end?
I’m the
strongest one of us currently, and essentially the main character for all
intents and purposes. It only makes
sense that I would excel at being the hero.
It’s all a part of my path to becoming the future king of jumpers.
What
does that even entail? I’ve been
confused about that goal since I became a girl.
You’ll
understand as we progress through more and more jumps.
I think you just don’t know. Continuing on with the recap, after the
Transient Fighting Tournament ended we were sent back to our world to live out
the rest of our days. Raijin thanked us
for our cooperation in helping him protect the realm and went off to who knows
where to do god stuff. With only one
real objective we continued to stomp the competition in fighting
tournaments. There was an extreme
shortage of worthy opponents for me and Karen so we ended up having to hold
back for most of the time we had left.
As the “King” of Magic I deserve to be able to showcase my magical
prowess.
In
the jump after the next we go to I think you’ll get your fill of strong
opponents. There may even be a few
familiar faces.
I can't believe Bruce was knocked out immediately.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I suppose your title could have been worse. "King of the Multiverse" might be more, um, accurate...? But... - D. Shard
Don't worry D. Bruce won his fair share of tournaments. I just didn't feel like keeping track since we won the tournaments more for the team as a whole then as individuals. I'll take your name into consideration. Although, I feel most wouldn't understand unless they were aware of the multiverse itself. - An informative Future Jump King.
