Jump 7: Mahou Sensei Negima! - Class 3: Crisis in Kyoto

The school trip was filled to the brim with trouble.  Probably the most action packed three days of my time here.  It started with simple interference from troublemakers in the Kansai Magic Association, then escalated into something huge.

We didn’t even get to do much this time!

Konoka was targeted by the rouge group while the students were sleeping, so Negi, Asuna, Setsuna and I went to save her.  It wasn’t a problem since only one mage was fighting us, but it only got worse as the trip went on.

During the trip Nodoka ended up forming a Pactio with Negi-sensei.

It would prove an integral part of overcoming this trial.  Her artefact allows her to read the surface thoughts of those whose name she knows.  When they made their big move it saved Negi in his fight with Kotarou Inugami.  Negi and Asuna barely managed to beat him with some improvised magic from Negi and support from Asuna and Nodoka.

If you hadn’t forced us to focus on enjoying the trip with everyone we could have helped you know!

I had decided to stay with Setsuna and help protect Konoka.  My assistance proved to be of little use as Tsukuyomi took on Setsuna, and I couldn’t stand up to Fate and Chigusa.  So Setsuna was injured protecting Konoka and her dormant powers came to light.  We escaped to her family home in Kyoto which happened to be the headquarters of the Kansai Magic Association.  Negi was able to deliver the letter from the headmaster to his son-in-law (Konoka’s father/head of Kansai Magic Association) and our problems looked like they were over.

Then everything went to hell.

Things took a big turn for the worse.

In the middle of the night, Fate broke through the magic barriers surrounding the house and turned nearly everyone to stone.  Thanks to my immunity to magic the only thing I lost were my clothes.  I fled from him, found suitable replacements and joined Negi, Asuna and Setsuna in chasing after him and Chigusa after they made off with Konoka.  Chigusa used Konoka’s powers to summon a horde of demons to distract us and the situation was looking dire.  Negi put up a wind barrier and formed a pactio with Setsuna and we planned to let Negi go ahead to save Konoka.  With Asuna’s artefact being able to essentially one shot the demons, Setsuna’s demon slaying sword style and my martial arts and magic we were able to hold our own.  But the fact of the matter was that there were too many for us to handle and go help Negi.  Luckily, Yue had managed to escape and call for back up.  Kaede, Ku-Fei and Mana showed up to assist us at Yue’s call.  Alice and Karen caught wind of the trouble brewing and demanded that I summon them to help.  Alice healed any injuries we had and along with Karen, stayed to fight the demons until Mana and Ku-Fei arrived to help.

Those two were way too strong for middle schoolers.

Mana has amazing gun skills and Ku-Fei’s martial arts was enough to hurt demons.

I rushed to go help Negi along with Setsuna and Asuna.  Negi was held up again by Kotarou who was demanding a serious fight from him.  I arrived in time to see Kaede step in and allow Negi to go save Konoka.  While I could have gone with him, after hearing Kotarou state that he wouldn’t get serious against a girl I asked Kaede to let me handle him.  Ushering Asuna and Setsuna ahead I introduced myself to Kotarou as Negi’s colleague and technical senpai.  Being only four years older he assumed I was just full of hot air, but when I got in a fighting stance he began to think differently of me.

I fought him for most of the remainder of the event.  He had insane strength for a ten year old, and a lot of combat experience.  If I hadn’t copied Negi’s way of infusing his body with magic to strengthen my strikes I might have lost.  It also helped that I could cast spells while we were trading blows.  Kaede was impressed with my combat prowess and told me she’d watch Kotarou while I go catch up with Negi.  I arrived in time to see Negi and Asuna going up against Fate and losing.  I wasn’t in any state to really help, but I let a spell loose that Fate blocked easily.  All we did was stall for time, which was enough given the circumstances.  Evangeline somehow made it outside of the school and not only sent Fate flying, but defeated the sealed demon that Chigusa summoned with Konoka’s power in one shot.  It was awe inspiring really.  Fate tried to sneak attack her, but being a true vampire she wasn’t fazed by his attack and he retreated upon realizing this.

With the immediate threats resolved Negi ended up succumbing to Fate’s petrification spell and was headed towards the door to death.

Then Konoka ened up giving him a smooch and formed a pactio with him.  It awakened her powers and allowed her to heal him and everyone else that was turned to stone.

The rest of the trip doesn’t really need mentioning.  But what does, is my desire to get stronger.  That Fate guy really showed me how weak I am.

We can get stronger together!

What Karen said.  We’ll be an invincible team if we all gain more power.
