Jump 3 MMBN: The Jump - Battle Network

ACDC Town’s area of the Net.  After the hell that was NetFrica before I learned how to dodge the wood based attacks, the viruses here were a cake walk.

I had been tipped off to WWW’s first plan of action, causing house fires through people’s ovens.  Seemed like just a random thing at the time, but I wasn’t about to just sit around and let people’s houses burn down.  I got one of the hackers I met in the UnderNet to track the fires coming from ovens and get me in there.  There were a plethora of fire type viruses in every oven I came across.  The perpetrator Navi, FireMan, wasn’t all that strong.  But he was very good at distracting me as he got away from me multiple times, avoiding deletion.  I heard the last house they tried to burn down had a Navi that could fight back.  Him and his operator not only quelled the excess viruses, but were able to beat Fireman as well.  MegaMan and Lan.  While WWW got whatever it was they were searching for, those two did manage to stop Fireman all the same.  I decided to keep an eye on them in secret to see if they would impress me further.

The next incident that caught my attention was that WWW planned on brainwashing students with propaganda about Wily and the like.  This wasn’t going to fly with me, and I infiltrated the targeted school’s network.  Unfortunately I was too slow, and everywhere I went I saw the aftermath of MegaMan and Lan’s actions.  Just like with the FireMan incident, they were putting a stop to WWW’s plans.  I managed to arrive on the scene to witness MegaMan defeat NumberMan.  But he didn’t delete him curiously enough, but instead put him on a path to reform along with his operator.  Sensing that everything was going to be fine I left to go get more information on WWW’s master plan.

The next event of note was that the WWW wanted to spread more chaos by stopping the Metroline from working with a hulking brute of a Navi called StoneMan.  I would have handled the situation myself, but I was confronted by an official NetNavi.  ProtoMan, and his kid operator Chaud.  The two were quite the pair, even if Chaud and Lan were around the same age.  The difference in experience was quite clear.  While in no danger myself, I had to give them credit for the power they possessed at the time.  My dealings in the UnderNet were starting to spread too far, so they wanted to take me in for questioning.  Not that I could blame them, I wasn’t exactly being subtle.  After defeating them in battle and sparing ProtoMan I took my leave.  I had a feeling that the situation had been handled already.

What the WWW did next came as quite the shock to me, but they somehow managed to pollute all the water in Den Town and freeze it too for good measure.  The Navi responsible, IceMan didn’t seem to have the makings of a WWW agent when I gathered intel on him.  But you never know with some people or Navis.  I decided to wait it out a bit before making my move.  Once more I arrived after MegaMan and Lan did.  I was beginning to think that these two were just magnets for trouble.  I followed behind them, hidden from them both as I observed.  The two once again displayed impressive battle prowess as they not only handled things in cyberspace, but the real world from what I could make out of their conversations.  When they encountered IceMan and bested him I heard about why he and his operator were forced into messing with the water of the Town.  It tugged at my digital heart a little bit.  Then ProtoMan showed up and almost deleted him.  Thankfully he and Chaud listened to reason, so I didn’t have to intervene.  I left to go dig up more dirt on WWW.

The next two incidents passed without me even having the chance to intervene.  Both ColorMan and ElecMan were taken down by MegaMan and Lan.  They even managed to beat ProtoMan, an impressive feat to accomplish. Before the final incident of this adventure, I went and finally introduced myself to MegaMan and those close to him.  While the operators were all children, I managed to get along fairly well with them regardless.  Most of the Navis were nice and we became fast friends.  I challenged GutsMan and Dex to a friendly battle, and while GutsMan does possess great strength, he was too slow to be much of a challenge.  I went easy on him a bit so as not to hurt his pride too much.  MegaMan and Lan were the ones I wanted to fight the most, but I felt that would be a better fight if I waited until the WWW was stopped.

The “End Game” plot that WWW had been enacting all this time was something I didn’t even think was possible.  Wily had plans of creating a “Life Virus” to bring about the end of the net society and bring out chaos all over.  That wasn’t something I could just sit back and watch happen, so I teamed up with MegaMan and co. to confront WWW and put an end to things.  I myself didn’t do all that much in the end really. I handled most of the viruses that appeared, but MegaMan went and fought BombMan and MagicMan by himself.  If I had just been able to get there faster… In the end it didn’t matter, ProtoMan put a stop to the resurrected MagicMan and Lan’s father did some weird thing to synch MegaMan and Lan’s DNA.  Apparently MegaMan contains “data” from Lan’s deceased twin brother Hub Hikari… Lan’s dad must be some sort of genius to pull something like that off.  I wished them both luck as they went to defeat the Life Virus.  With the world saved there was nothing left to do and everyone left… except for me.

I wanted to look over the remains of the Life Virus when a Navi appeared out of nowhere and used something I would later find out was called the Get Ability Program.  He absorbed a portion of the Life Virus before noticing that I was there.  We had a brief talk, before he challenged me to a battle.  He felt that we were similar, and right he was.  This was the strongest Navi I had faced yet, and his strength surprised me to the point that I almost lost.  But then I discovered that I too, had the Get Ability Program.  I clutched where his emblem should have been and took one of his abilities as my own.  He still had it, but I could use it too now.  The Earth Breaker.  For some reason I just knew the name and what it was capable of.  We fought to a standstill and then he left.  Hoping that we’d meet again after getting stronger.  That, was my first encounter with Bass.  Future Dark Messiah of the UnderNet.

I also encountered the likes of ShadowMan (He had been hired to assassinate me. Didn’t work out and I paid him more Zenny to stop trying.) and the seemingly ancient PharaohMan (No real reason as to why we fought, but he had a decent amount of power.) while wandering the net during this time of peace.  I eventually challenged SkullMan, SharkMan (Never stood a chance being water element) and WoodMan (Oh I had so much fun getting hit with my weakness whenever we fought) to friendly battles to hone my skills.  It was an enjoyable experience.  I even ran into the WWW navis during my wanderings. They were all beaten easily enough.

The last thing of note is that I was able to bear witness to a truly inspiring battle between MegaMan and Bass.  The combined teamwork of MegaMan and Lan allowed them to triumph over him in the end.  I was left in awe of the skill that those two had when they were in synch, even without the Hub.BAT program, which was removed after the defeat of the Life Virus.
With that being said I must now take my leave.  Another incident is brewing already, so I have to start gathering intel.

To be continued in Mega Man Network Transmision
